Joni Lawver has compiled a wonderful history of the City of Fort Calhoun in preparation for the 2005 sesquicentennial anniversary.

The book spans the time from the 16th century Spanish explorers to Lewis and Clark’s meeting with the Otoe-Missouri Tribes; to the settling of the town and up to current events.  It includes historic photos, facts from early city council minutes and a photo of every house currently within the city limits.

All proceeds from the sales of the book benefit the Washington County Historical Association.
